The valley of 5 a el

When shall I be again in the valley
that we travelled wide and long
where the trees
grow tall
horses run free
and the most favourite tune of all
is a famous freedom song?

When shall I be again in the valley
where I knew them
the temperate valley smelling of vegetation
grappling with life and death
hope and despair
it was farewell to arms but going where?
holding our breath
in eager anticipation
for a common ground to share
some sort of temporary, at least, salvation
playing hide and seek with points of view
accepting difference, sharing what we knew
from each other's mouth we did expect
-whenever we felt they sounded good-
to find right words in turn to chew
-your friend is right, in some respect
and what you say is true-

meanwhile
be it brown or fair
curly or smooth and black
your hair in the wind I saw
flowing light
in the air so bright.

When shall I be again in the valley five el a
that we searched long and wide till the day
-not a stone was left unturned-
school was over?

second floor down there turn right
when you enter you take them at the side
slightly from the back
like the friendly hand that covers up your eyes
asking you to guess
and you feel such a flush of warmth
that only modesty and the public place
prevents you from touching back
and yes
feel for an embrace.

When shall I be again in the valley five el a
that we travelled long and wide till the day
school was over?
now I am left with memories
just a rover
